Shaped by African sounds.
OFFSCRIPT is a series of small, curated gatherings in Leeds, built for real connection. Each one is a chapter.
The name
The best nights are rarely the ones you planned. They're the ones where the plan gave way: a room you hadn't heard of, a record you didn't know, a conversation with someone who was a stranger an hour ago.
OFFSCRIPT is built for that moment. We set the stage carefully, the room, the sound, the people, then leave the rest unwritten.
Chapters, not events
Every OFFSCRIPT is a chapter. Each has its own room, its own selectors and its own look, and each happens once. Some will be nights; others might be daytime listening sessions or long dinners. What links them is the feeling of being somewhere you were meant to discover.
We keep the rooms small on purpose. It's easier to hear the music, easier to meet people, and easier to remember the night as your own.
By Third Place
A third place is the space between home and work: the café, the barbershop, the corner of a bar where people gather by choice and become regulars. Places like that are where communities actually form.
OFFSCRIPT is made by Third Place, and it carries that idea into the night. Come for the music; come back for the people you met.
The sound
African music is our anchor, and we name it properly. Each chapter is curated around these sounds and the club music that grew from them.
- Afrobeats
- The West African pulse that carried a generation of dancefloors, from Lagos and Accra to London and Leeds.
- Amapiano
- South Africa’s log-drum sound: patient, deep, built for rooms that stay late.
- Afro house
- Hypnotic, percussive house music with African roots, made for moving together.
- Selected club sounds
- Whatever else the night needs, chosen by selectors who know when to break the pattern.
The room code

Everyone who respects the room is welcome in it. A few things we ask:
- Come curious. Leave the script at the door.
- Respect the room, the music and everyone in it.
- Ask before you film or photograph people.
- Look out for each other. If something feels wrong, tell the team.
